Core Team

Felicity Simpson
Began her career as a circus performer in England and Europe before moving to Brazil, where she founded Intrepida Trupe during the 80’s, bringing circus to totally new platforms - musicals, opera and open-air.
She spent the next 20 years using circus to pioneer new innovations in business and education. Felicity co-founded Circo Para Todos, the first professional circus school in the world specifically dedicated to underprivileged children, which became in 2005 Colombia’s National Circus School, a key institution in South American for world circus training and where she remains Chair. In 2006 she created Circolombia ltd, also trading as Circus at Work.

Becky Shayler
Folllowing a successful career in the arts as a commercial dancer, Becky re-trained and crossed over to the production side, joining Circolombia at its conception in 2006. She has seen the company grow hugely since then, and enjoys being part of an ever-evolving community.
Although Becky has long shelved her ambition to join a teeterboard troupe, she still secretly dreams of the trapeze!

Ketsia Joseph-Monrose
French Caribbean and Colombian, Ketsia continues to cultivate her passion for foreign languages and cultures. With a Master‘s degree in International Project Negotiation, specialising in English and Mandarin Chinese, she’s never stopped pursuing her lifelong love for entertainment, from choir singing to dancing on tables. Whilst working for the Colombian Embassy in London, organising and promoting cultural events, it was only a matter of time before she decided to join Circolombia. A charismatic people’s person, overflowing with "joie de vivre", she is a pure sunbeam.

Michelle Gough
Michelle Gough is our fantastic logistics and visa coordinator.
She had an early start in the arts, from full time ballet education at 11, to arts ed and diplomas galore. Then swapping the dance floor to the trading floor, she spent many years as a Personal Assistant to high level management in the financial sector.
Her great experience in organizing travel and events worldwide, along with her background knowledge of the arts, were key criterias to welcome Michelle in the Circolombia team.

François Bertron
Marketing and communication, from concepts to strategy Francois has been at the heart of Circolombia since inception.
His discrete and total support, avoiding the limelight, has put Circolombia on the right path to the world’s stage.
We would not be where we are today without him.

Ryan Wilmott
Music is not important, it’s essential and Ryan is our Maestro. For both Urban and Acelere shows, besides creating all of the tracks in various studio environments, he has expertly led the singers to improve and diversify their vocal delivery in live performance.
Ryan runs major fields at Glastonbury festival and has produced a whole heap of successful shows, his most recent being Arcadia Spectacular.

James Loudon
Rumoured to be Welsh, James grew up in Essex, but you would hardly know it. Having toured with bands for many years until he couldn’t stand it anymore, he branched out into lighting for contemporary dance and theatre, which led onto site specific and circus work. Having no physical skills whatsoever has not dampened his enthusiasm for working within this genre.

Renato Rocha
Bouncing non stop from Brazil, Renato has been developing an international career since 2010. In London he has created shows for the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Roundhouse, LIFT (London International Festival of Theatre), Marseille International Biennial of Arts and the National Theatre of Scotland.
